Next to real estate, golf courses are the most frequent users of drone imagery. According to Golf Inc Magazine, drones can be used:
- To increase memberships
- To market the beauty of the course
- For interactive experiences
- To study and maintain the course
- To document the maturation of the course over time
Prior to drones bursting onto the aerial photography scene, the cost helicopters had kept aerial imagery out of reach for all but the most exclusive of private club courses. With the invention and use of drones, the cost has plummeted. Now, even the most modest of municipal courses can have a previously unheard of presence.
